Rob Gritton began his Jungle Experience residency in 2010 and has played a fundamental role in shaping the event’s sound and atmosphere. Over the years, he has helped it grow into a major monthly house and techno event on Koh Phangan, bringing thousands of people together around a single stage.
After initially helping with artist bookings, Rob took responsibility for the programme around 2016 or 2017. His booking work helped take the party to the next level, bringing leading house and techno artists to Jungle Experience, including Mark Knight, Yousef, Supernova and Phil Hartnoll of Orbital. Today, he oversees DJ bookings and musical selection for the main stage alongside his resident sets.

Rob has made multiple appearances on Centreforce Radio, with his music played on the station every week. Strong support from Sam Supplier and Karess Records brings his productions to listeners far beyond Koh Phangan.
That relationship extends into the studio. Rob and Sam collaborate on releases and put out music on each other’s labels, connecting KARESS and Moon Island Records.

1995
The first vinyl sets
Begins mixing in the UK, playing house parties and smaller events.
2005
Koh Phangan becomes home
Moves from the UK to Thailand and begins building his life in music on the island.
2008
Beach Lounge Bar
Opens Beach Lounge Bar in Haad Rin, creating a home for underground house and techno.
2010
Jungle Experience
Begins his residency, helping shape the sound and atmosphere of Jungle Experience.
2013
Moon Island Records
Co founds the independent label, supporting underground artists from Thailand and beyond.
2015
Half Moon Festival
Adds a residency at another of the island’s major events.

Taking Jungle bookings forward
After helping with bookings, takes responsibility for the artist programme, bringing leading house and techno artists to the main stage.

With over 30 years behind the decks, Rob Gritton has been a driving force in Koh Phangan’s underground music scene since arriving in Thailand in 2005. Best known for his 16+ years as resident DJ at the legendary Jungle Experience, one of Thailand’s biggest underground dance events, Rob has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in electronic music, performing to crowds of thousands. Known for his ability to keep dance floors moving through extended sets, Rob remains passionate about the art of DJing, including his love of playing vinyl.
A dedicated producer and founder of Moon Island Records (est. 2013), Rob has released music on numerous international labels. With around 20 Beatport chart entries, including Top 10 Hype Chart positions and No. 11 rankings in both Deep House and Indie Dance, his productions have earned international recognition. Collaborations with artists including Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) and Sam Supplier add to a musical journey spanning three decades.
